9 Years Is No Accident
Clarksville Department of Electricity employees set a new record in safety September 19th. The utility workers completed their ninth year without any lost work time due to an accident.
CDE Safety and Training Director Ronnie Poston was very pleased, but not surprised with the new milestone. “The 9 year record or 3287 work days, exemplifies the conscious commitment each employee makes every day for the company,” Poston said. “With 103 full and part-time employees on the job, this safety record is no small accomplishment,” Poston continued, “Our workers buy in to the program and are proud of their own efforts.”
CDE workers have won several awards associated with good safety habits. The American Public Power Association has honored CDE on seven occasions from 1998 through 2005 with national safety award recognition. The Distributors Insurance Company has recognized the utility’s record with a DIC Challenge award on a biannual basis for the past 17 reporting periods.
