CDE Lightband Announces The Addition Of Phone Service

CDE Lightband announced today the addition of phone to their broadband offerings. This addition allows CDE Lightband to offer a full Triple Pack service tht includes digital video, high speed Internet and phone service via the fiber optic network. The network delivers one of the most robust boradband systems in the region over 960 miles of fiber optic cabling.
CDE Lightband is providing a traditional phone service via its fiber to the home system in partnership with Norlight Inc., formerly Cinergy Communications. Norlight Inc. has a 40 plus year history of dynamic growth and innovation. They provide a full line of voice services to consumers and commercial customers throughout Kentucky, Indiana and Tennessee. Norlight maintains a focus on the industry trends and products that will meet customers' needs well into the future. “We are excited to be able to provide this option to our customers in partnership with Norlight. They are a leader in the voice industry and have been a tremendous asset as we began developing our phone offerings”, stated Rick Ingram, CDE Lightband president.
CDE Lightband will offer the phone services for customers in its service area in April. The service is available ala carte or may be packaged with other offerings such as digital video and high speed Internet. Substantial discounts do apply with the various package options. “We hope our customers understand the delays associated with providing the phone service were necessary to ensure that we provided the best possible service. We are thrilled that we can now provide additional products that many of our customers and potential customers have requested,” stated Christy Batts, CDE Lightband vice-president of telecommunications.
Additionally, CDE Lightband announced an increase in technical support and installation support to meet the growing demand for service. Additional staff has been added to continue to provide local 24-7 customer service, as well as, staff for in home customer support. Local contractors utilized for installation work are adding additional staff in order to support the demand for services. “We are so pleased that we can now offer our services to all of the 58,000 plus customers in the CDE Lightband service area and are equally excited that so many of our customers that are requesting the new broadband offerings. We have weathered many issues over the past year of our launch but have made great strides in our service offerings, reliability and performance. Our CDEL team, project partners and business partners have worked hard to provide what we believe our customers in Clarksville will soon decide is the premier municipal broadband service provider in the state,” continued Mr. Ingram.
CDE Lightband is the municipal power provider for the city of Clarksville. CDE Lightband serves over 58,000 metered homes and businesses with electric service and broadband services such as digital video, high-speed Internet and phone services.
